• Question: do you think we will ever find a cure for illnesses such as cancer???

      Yes, I do. ‘Cancer’ is actually a generalised term for a huge number of different diseases in which cells grow out of control in different parts of the body. There are already far more drugs and other treatments out there than when I was your age and the outlook for people diagnosed with cancer is much better than in used to be. There’s even a vaccination now against the virus (human papilloma virus) that is involved in causing cervical cancer. The more we can understand about how all of the different types of cancer work in different people, the better chance there will be of curing them, which is why basic scientific research is so important.

      I don’t think we’ll beat all cancers in our lifetimes, but eventually I think it is achievable.

      No- cancer will though become a treatable disease a bit like a headache- you’ll just need to take the treatment for the rest of your life!!!!! Curing cancer is 190’s of yearsxaway
