Fav band is in the profile interview, although today I’m back onto trusty David Bowie from the 1970’s…

I’ve been in my current job since 2007, but a research scientist since 1991.

      Animals: see previous answer.

Will my work affect people? I hope so. Most of my research is into how the cell nucleus works, so not directly aimed at curing anything. However, if you want to fix the engine of a car, you need to know how it works first. In the same way, it’s important to know how healthy cells work. I also do some experiments trying to work out what goes wrong with the cells of people with Spinal Muscular Atrophy: an inherited form of motor neuron disease. That might eventually help to lead to a treatment or cure.

      Lots of questions here.
I do not have a favourite band. I like a lot of different music; pop, jazz, blues, classical, rock etc. It depends on my mood what I want to listen to.

I have been working in may current job since 2011.

I don’t use animals in my work (thankfully)

I hope that my work will help the public health programs in sub-Saharan African countries that try to control the parasite (schistosome worms) and the disease they cause (schistosomiasis).

      Band – Bon Jovi
Ive been in this job since 2001 and we don’t use animals in our work.
We only do a little bit of research as we are more of a diagnostic lab – we tell people what is wrong with them. My work affects people alot. I am responsible for determining the what genetic reasons are behind their cancer and this will affect their treatment.
