Scientist and doctors aren’t all good. It’s like any other job, there are the brilliant, the adequate and the plain incompetent. Of course, even the best can make mistakes. Fortunately, in my area of research, if I make a mistake, nobody dies.

Well the fact is scientists and doctors are just people. And they have as many faults and make as many mistakes as everybody else. If they are competent, honest and careful then they make less mistakes or less dangerous mistakes but often luck plays an important role too. But, like Judith points out, they can be incompetent or even corrupted. Its very sad when that is the case. I think in the case of Michael Jackson the doctor was found guilty of involuntary manslaughter. So he didn’t mean to kill him but he made a mistake in the amount of different drugs that he gave Michael Jackson which lead to Jackson’s death, so it was the doctors incompetence. Very sad indeed.

Michael Jackson isn’t dead. He works in the chippy across the road from me. Shamon.
