Thats a physics question – mainly due to the amount of complexity of big things and the energy required to move them.
Imagine teleportation – to teleport a human you would have to convert them into a digital signal, then KILL them at the sending end before recreating them at the receiving end. And this would be done each time a living thing was teleported.
For inaminate objects this isn’t a problem – its just the energy required to rebuild them,
Physics AND philosophy: even if you could transport a person and put them (biologically) back together at the other end (using a whole different set of atoms, I expect) would they really still be the same person?
Have you seen the film ‘The Fly’? I probably shouldn’t recommend the 1986 version with Jeff Golblum here as it’s an 18, but the 1958 original is one of my favourites!
