• Question: in your theory of the universe......... IS GOD REAL?

      Thank you very much for your question.

      I believe that there is a conscious being that controls the universe. I believe this because there is so much order in the universe. The more I study proteins and genes, the more I realise that for all this to come about by chance is impossible. One small mistake and everything collapses. The other point which scientists are realising is that the laws which control the way things are (for example, the law of gravity, and laws relating to forces) allow us and everything around us to exist. So, where did those laws come from?

      Many scientists in the past have believed in a ‘creator’. For example, Isaac Newton, Plato and Aristotle.

      It is also important to remember that many scientists today do not believe in creation. I believe it is important for us to respect and understand each others views.
