Clinical cytogenetics is the study of chromosomes. In your body you have lots of cells. In these cells are the control centre called the nucleus. Within the nucleus is all of your genetic information about your height, eye colour, etc and to make sorting this information easier the DNA is organised as chromosomes. There are 23 pairs of chromosomes in the human 1-22, X and Y. My job as a cytogeneticist is to spot the difference between the chromosomes and see if anything is wrong with them.
