For meetings and courses: USA, Italy, France, Sweden, Spain, Germany, Austria, Switzerland. Actually, a longer list than I expected!

      Hello Hannah95.

After my PhD, I visited conferences held at different places around the world to present my research. I presented a poster in Wisconsin (USA), and also in Toronto (Canada). I have also been to work in Texas, USA, where I stayed for about nine months.

I have also attended a small group conference in Budapest, Hungary.

Once you become a qualified research scientist, you can work anywhere in the world as the qualification will be recognised everywhere. The main qualifications are some type of course in the subject you wish to study, and experience in a research laboratory.

When you go on conferences, these are normally paid for on the grant that is used to pay for the research. This means that you don’t have to meet the costs yourself, and you can also have a ‘mini-holiday’ alongside the conference.
