• Question: what is genetics?

      Literally it’s the study of genes, heredity and variation in living organisms.

      There are many sub-branches of genetics, though. I don’t study heredity, but I do study how the cell uses its genes (gene expression and cell biology), which, I suppose, is why I ended up in the “Genes Zone”!

      judith trumped me to this one 🙂 – yes, the study of genes . Genomics is up and coming and is the study of how genes and the genome all interact together.
