Tough one that. Nothing sciencey as all the good stuff has been taken. I did invent a wicked sandwich filling with beef, turkey, humous and cucumber.

I’m afraid the research I do doesn’t invent anything, what I do is discover things about how the parasite I am studying works, adapts and changes in the environment. And then I try to use this information to help parasite control and treatment programs in affected countries. So sadly no inventions. 🙁 Otherwise I’d be rich 😉

Nope, no inventions from me, either. Little bits of new information here and there, pieces of the puzzle filled in. Nothing worthy of a patent! Although, since Chris digressed to sandwich fillings, I can make a reasonably good sarny from what my Mum would refer to as ‘fridge scrapings’: you know, the random bits that are left the day before the weekly shop…

I like your question. It shows you have ambition.

It is very hard to invent something great in science. It takes many years, and a lot of dedication. As I am a fairly young scientist, I have to say I haven’t invented anything of major importance. But, if I were to do so, I would probably invent a new and exciting technique to study something in biology, or help to invent a new medicine.
